On 15 April 2026, as part of the Made in Italy Day, architect Marco Poletti (Milan) and Professor Giangabriele Fini are organising a student competition and a masterclass to be held at Caspian Public University in Almaty, with the assistance of Dr Edoardo Crisafulli, PhD, Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Almaty.
The event is supported by the Embassy of Italy in Astana, the Italian Trade Agency, and the Italian Institute of Culture in Almaty.
Among the participants and guests, representatives of Italian institutions are expected to attend, as well as the event sponsor, Paghera, a company renowned for its projects in the field of landscape design.
The programme will also feature a masterclass by architect Marco Poletti entitled: “DNA Made in Italy – Design and Architecture.”
The goal of the event is to strengthen the dialogue between Italian and Kazakh cultures through architecture and design. It is intended to foster the creative potential of students and young professionals, while also encouraging intercultural exchange and professional collaboration. Design is presented as an important tool for innovation and for shaping a high-quality built environment.
